About February 25, 2007
Brad and Maeve first remember meeting in February of 2004 while working together at Columbia College Chicago for Frequency TV. They both were in the first staff meeting of the spring semester, Brad was eating a microwavable Udon noodles dish and Maeve remembers no one believing him about how good it tasted. The first project that they worked on together was the Senior Spotlight for Columbia College’s graduating class of 2004. For the months that followed Brad and Maeve worked together and grew closer as friends.
Their first unofficial date was when they went to the Music Box in May 2004 to see Coffee and Cigarettes. This wasn’t a date but it was the first time they went out alone together, it allowed them the chance to get to know each other better and perhaps “lit” the fire of love. Brad first realized his love for Maeve when he came out on a rainy night while sick to see Maeve’s friend Alison Royer’s comedy show at Second City. On their way back from the show Maeve took a picture of Brad on her mobile phone. Still to this day when Brad calls Maeve’s mobile phone, that picture of him shows up. Their first kiss wasn’t till a few weeks later in October, they had dinner at Bar Louie and then took a stroll around Chicago’s Millennium park. Not too long after that, Brad and Maeve moved in with each other; they have shared two different apartments, raised an amazing cat Tweak, and have begun their life together.
On a cool, late September evening, Brad convinced Maeve to take a bike ride to lake Michigan. Maeve wanted no part of this bike ride because it was late in the evening and very cold outside. Brad promised she would enjoy the ride. While sitting out on the rocks looking out at the water with the lights of the city behind them Brad asked Maeve to marry him. With tears forming in her eyes Maeve’s said “Yes.” It was late when they got home but they just couldn’t wait to share the news with their families.
Their love of micro brewed beer, coffee, bike riding, The Office, Apple Computers, indie music, traveling, organic foods, music festivals, photography, mustard, trying new restaurants, soup box, tweak, fests, grilling, hanging out with good friends, fuel efficiency, trying new drinks (non-alcoholic and alcoholic) and everything else they do with each other is just part of what makes them kick-ass.
Brad and Maeve aren’t sure what the future holds for them. They do know they are both very excited to start a new chapter in their lives together and look forward to sharing this special occasion with all of you.
OMG, I love this!
Funny & informative, too cute !!
I’m so happy Brad and Maeve finally got together. I knew these two fools years before they got together in the future. The first moment I saw them, I knew they were meant to be together.
Sorry to hear abourt the divorce. It was a nice run while it lasted but that’s what happens when you go to the Bull. Never again chico.
